		<description>This is extremely encouraging. Finally politicians that &#039;get it&#039;. Andrea Reimer is an incredible and extremely capable woman - a powerhouse - and I know she will do her best to address the challenges of peak oil and climate change.

The repercussions are great. Neighboring cities often look to Vancouver as an example. if Vancouver is bold enough to put forth an initiative and prove it works, at least some other mayors often follow suit.

I would love to see other cities start discussing these issues more seriously. All I ever hear at the city hall is &#039;we&#039;ll green this city, we&#039;ll plant more trees&#039; or some other rubbish. Next to no one is addressing the real challenges.

I encourage all of you to attend council meetings and challenge the council. Let them know that environment and sustainability does not go against economy. Let them know that in fact economy depends on healthy environment.</description>
