Leaked report on federal gov. environmental plan

The federal government will be delivering a new plan tomorrow, to curb our emissions by 20% by 2020. What is funny is that it faxed the report- by mistake – to the opposition party – and the report leaked out.
In the grand tradition of the present short-sighted government, the plan calls for action in curbing our emissions, but the government warns it will not do so to the detriment of the Canadian economy. Predictions are that the cut of 20% of our emissions by 2020 is from the 2006 levels, not 1990 levels, as the Kyoto protocol calls for. This sort of short sightedness and economy-will-be-ruined-if-we-cut-too-much-our-emissions scary tactics is simply unbelievable, given the era in which we find ourselves. We truly need to kick this government out of the office come next elections and make it absolutely clear that the environment is the number one priority and that we see through the government’s smoke screen.
